Updating Citizen Identity Cards With Chips (Continued)
Next, about the issue of updating chip-attached citizen identity cards that our company shared in the previous article.
Recently, the Business Registration Management Department issued Official Letter No. 43/DKKD-GS on March 21, 2023 on updating citizen identification information with chips of legal representatives.
Accordingly, there are currently many opinions and information that enterprises have received a notice from the tax authority requesting: “no later than March 31, 2023, enterprises must complete the procedures for updating the citizen identity card with a chip for the legal representative on the Business Registration Certificate; past the above time limit, enterprises will be administratively sanctioned”
In this regard, the Business Registration Management Department has discussed with the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Taxation affirmed that: THERE IS NO POLICY NOR DOES IT SEND EMAILS OR ANY NOTICES TO TAXPAYERS ABOUT THE ABOVE CONTENT.
The registration of changes and notification of changes in enterprise registration contents have been specified in the Law on Enterprises, the Government’s Decree No. 01/2021/ND-CP dated January 4, 2021 on enterprise registration.
Therefore, information about the issue of updating the Citizen Identity Card with a chip for the legal representative on the Business Registration Certificate by March 31, 2023 is unfounded. So businesses do not need to be confused and worried.
